Mandy not feeling well

Hi Guys,

 

I have a quick update for you. Mandy is not feeling well today. She was a little fussy, and started running a fever and started throwing up and having some diarrhea. They are giving her IV fluids to avoid dehydration. They are going to stop her feeds, and run some tests to find out what is going on. The doctor said that it was probably some kind of an infection. He didn’t seem worried.

 

Please pray for her healing, especially that the fever will go down. We cannot really work with her right now while she is sick.

 

This new parent stuff is an absolute trip. You don’t think about all the things that can go wrong with a newborn, much less one who has been through as much as Mandy. But then you come across someone else who has it worse than you do. There was a parent we met whose 4 year old daughter is extremely sick, and has some brain damage as a result of high fever of over 107. They really do not know what is wrong with her. So I would like to request that we pray for her as well. Also pray for her parents, who looked totally exhausted.

 But he was pierced for our transgressions,

    I think your strength and faith is amazing. I will be praying for Mandy to get well and also the 4 year old girl.

  4. Dear Michael and Teresa,
    I too heard your request on DAB. I am a little behind on the days. Last night I was up with a little one with the stomach bug and couldn’t go back to sleep, so I listen to DAB. I have prayed for you all. Mandy is a darling baby and I pray she is doing well in the new facility. I pray you will be bringing her home soon. Here are a few Scriptures to encourage you along the way.
    James 1:5,6 – If Michael and Teresa lack wisdom, they should ask God, who will give generously to them without finding fault.
    Proverbs 18:10 – The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.
    II Cor. 10:5b – And we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
    I Pet. 5:7 – Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.
    Lam. 3:26 – Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.
    Phil. 4:13 – I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.
    3 John 1:2 – Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.

  5. Heard about you all on the Daily Audio Bible. Here is a psalm which the Spirit of the Lord gave to me. I believe it will edify your faith.

    An Issue of Blood

    A story told about a touch remains upon my mind.
    It has to do with one sick girl, no remedy could find

    She was devout and rightly so, a servant of her God.
    In point of fact a covenant child; so, being sick was odd.

    The God she served had promised her if she’d keep his commands
    He’d hear her prayers and send His word to establish her demands.

    You’d find this girl had missed it, though, if you looked into her past.
    For, she trusted in her riches assuming they would last

    For years she’d tried to fix herself according to her plan
    While all along her God was there, but she put her trust in man

    The years went by as she grew worse and hopelessness set in.
    And, the light that shined when she was young was slowly growing dim.

    One day she watched and listened to a man who’d come to town.
    From high atop her balcony she curiously looked down.

    This man had talked of healing and his words were full of power.
    He preached and taught and healed the sick and ministered for hours.

    Now, something happened to this girl as she took his words in.
    A light within her spirit was glowing once again.

    And, though a dozen years had passed prior to this eve
    The words this man had spoken had called her to believe.

    She grabbed her wrap and charged downstairs and ran amongst the band.
    For she was saying to herself, “my healing is at hand.”

    She’d made the choice and left her home; the place where she was safe.
    For, her hopelessness had been cast down and now replaced with faith.

    She came into the press behind and touched the kind man’s robe.
    And, all at once, forevermore the woman was made whole.

    The man had stopped to ask about the touch that pulled from Him
    His Father’s healing virtue, so, she cried out from within.

    She told him all the story of the years the sickness stole.
    And, he said, “have peace my daughter, your faith has made you whole.”

    She had not seen him from that day to this one she was in.
    She watched him die upon a tree, a sacrifice for sin.

    And, as her tears rolled down her cheeks acknowledging her pain
    They took his body from the cross and laid him in the rain.

    The woman saw an irony as he lay upon the mud.
    The healing, faith secured for her, was an issue of his blood.

    That’s the issue of blood you see, but not the one you’d thought it would be.

    It’s an issue of His blood to thee, the price he paid for you and me.
    Everything for which you have need, are the issues of his blood indeed.
